Lady Justice has a long memory as FBI analyst Jake Bernstein investigates a suspected Nazi spy wanted for war crimes.
A BODYGUARD OF LIES is a riveting blend of romantic thriller, mystery and WWII espionage. A Jewish-American FBI analyst, Jake Bernstein, is recruited by MI-5 to go undercover and investigate a naturalized American grandmother. The elderly woman is suspected by MI-5 of being a notorious Nazi spy wanted for war crimes. Jake Bernstein runs into a series of complications: This spy knows a secret that could endanger the British royal family; his attraction to the old woman’s beautiful granddaughter; an Irish, neo-Nazi group tries to kill him; and all the while, a clever, cagey old woman stands in the way of justice.

A contemporary spy-mystery--A BODYGUARD OF LIES, the first in a series about FBI agent, Jake Bernstein, who goes undercover to catch a ruthless, dangerous spy with neo-Nazi links. Look for it here
I just signed the contract for my romantic spy-mystery, A BODYGUARD OF LIES, with Musa Publishing. I love spy mysteries and thrillers (Have you seen the film, THE DEBT?) and have always wanted to write one. This is it! This contemporary story features a Jewish-American FBI agent, Jacob Bernstein, who goes undercover to investigate an American grandmother. She may or may not be a notorious Nazi spy that caused the deaths of thousands during WW II. I did a lot of research into the FBI and MI5, as well as on-site research in Ireland and Germany.
This book may develop into a series with "Lies" as the catch-phrase and Jake Bernstein (named after my grandson and stepfather)as our hero. He's a wonderful hero and I guess I'll follow him wherever he takes me.
This brand-new ebook/print publisher, Musa Publishing, feature high-quality fiction from international authors. Check them out.

I received a Second Place Award for my book, OPERATION FAMILIA, in the Romantic Comedy category of the Latino Books into Movies Awards, presented by actor Edward James Olmos, founder of Latino Literacy Now. I was honored and thrilled! In the photo are the other winners of the eight categories, ranging from mystery-suspense to children's illustrated book to romantic comedy. Mr. Olmos began this awards contest; 2010 was the first year that these awards have been presented. Judges included agents, screenwriters, directors and producers from the Hollywood film industry. One of the award-winning books has already been optioned for a movie.
The Sierra Belles, a double quartet from the Sierra Gold Chorus, visited my booksigning at the Galleria in Roseville on Feb. 12, 2011, and gave me a singing Valentine. They're a wonderful "Sweet Adelines" chorus with beautiful harmony, happy faces and great costumes. They attracted quite a crowd, including a cute little girl named Sienna. Thank you, Sierra Belles!
The Sierra Belles, a double quartet from the Sierra Gold Chorus, showed up at my Feb. 12th booksigning to give me a singing Valentine. Don't they look great in their sparkly costumes? And they sing like angels, too!
Hawaii Trip 2010
My sisters, daughter, niece and I took Grandma Tillie to Hawaii for a week-long cruise. 3 1/2 generations of family females had fun in the sun and surf, and visited the four biggest islands. We hope to make this "women's only" outing a new tradition every year!
We took Marylou's Guided Tours in Hilo, Hawaii. Marylou did a great job showing us around her adopted hometown. The parks were teeming with sea turtles and black lava-sand beaches, the waterfalls were lovely, and she showed us a part of Hilo that many tourists never get to see. Then it was back to our ship! Mahalo, Marylou! We won't forget you!

May 2008 Venice
A fantastic Mediterranean cruise with my Silicon Valley cousins, Linda and Frank Rodriguez, my sister Gloria, and my husband Joe begins with an equally fantastic meal along a side canal in Venice. It doesn't get any better than this.
